Reina dirige sa propre entreprise depuis environ 8 ans. Son travail consiste entre autres à recevoir, préparer et expédier des commandes, présenter ses produits à d’autres compagnies, créer et partager ses propres recettes et d’autres informations sur le thé dans les réseaux sociaux, chercher des nouveaux clients et marchés, collaborer avec d’autres compagnies locales, planifier des nouveaux produits et promotions et organiser des ateliers et des cérémonies du thé.
Être entrepreneure n’est pas toujours facile, et il faut beaucoup de temps pour construire une compagnie solide. Mais cette profession est différente et enrichissante grâce aux idées inspirantes, à la motivation et à l’énergie positive qu’elle reçoit chaque jour de ses clients et d’autres entrepreneurs.
Quand elle est arrivée à Montréal, Reina ne parlait pas français, ne connaissait pas la ville et n’avait pas de contacts à part quelques amis. Elle avait même pensé que ç’aurait été bien plus facile de lancer sa compagnie au Japon, où elle aurait pu parler et présenter ses produits dans sa langue maternelle, mieux comprendre le marché et déjà avoir des clients grâce aux contacts de sa famille.
Mais chaque défi qu’elle a relevé à Montréal l’a motivée à persévérer dans son parcours.
« Parler aux clients potentiels n’était pas facile pour moi au début. Maintenant, c’est la partie de mon travail que j’aime le plus. Quand je leur présente ma compagnie, ils s’intéressent souvent aux produits, à la culture japonaise ou à mon histoire. Je trouve ça très humain, et je n’aurais pas cette expérience si je travaillais à Tokyo », dit Reina.
Elle travaille maintenant avec plus de 100 compagnies et beaucoup de clients individuels au quotidien et a hâte d’agrandir son entreprise dans un avenir prochain.
Ces huit années d’expérience pratique lui ont appris non seulement à gérer une entreprise mais aussi à échouer et à se relever après chaque échec. Elle a aussi appris à apprécier chaque défi auquel elle fait face et chaque personne qu’elle rencontre car elle en tire toujours des leçons importantes.
17 ans après son arrivée à Montréal, Reina est une entrepreneure-immigrante épanouie.

Reina has been running her own business for around 8 years. Her work includes receiving, preparing and shipping orders, presenting her products to companies, creating and sharing her own recipes and other essential information about tea on social media, looking for new clients and markets, collaborating with other local companies, planning new products and promotions, hosting tea ceremonies and workshops, and much more.
Being an entrepreneur is not always easy, and it takes time to build a solid company. But what makes this profession different and rewarding is the inspiring ideas, motivation and positive energy she gets daily from her clients and from other entrepreneurs.
When she first arrived in Montreal, she couldn’t speak French, didn’t know the city and had no contacts aside from a few friends. She used to think it would have been much easier to start her company in Japan, where she would have been able to speak and present her products in her mother tongue, understand the market better and already have clients through her family connections.
But every challenge she faced in Montreal motivated her to keep moving forward and inspired her to continue this journey.
“Pitching in front of people wasn’t easy for me when I first started the company. Now, it’s my favourite part of the job. When I pitch, people are often interested in the products, Japanese culture, or my background. I find this so human, and I wouldn’t have this experience if I worked in Tokyo,” says Reina.
She now works with over 100 companies and numerous individual clients daily and she is excited about expanding her business in the near future.
These 8 years of hands-on experience taught her not only how to operate a business but also how to fail and to get up every time she gets knocked down. She also learned to appreciate every challenge she faces and every person she meets because they all teach her meaningful lessons.
17 years after arriving in Montreal, Reina is now a proud immigrant entrepreneur.
