Ingredients:

1/3 cup of almond butter *

1 egg

1/2 tsp. liquid vanilla stevia *

3 ripe bananas (approx 3/4 cup)

1 cup of almond flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)

1/4 tsp. Himalayan salt

1 TBSP of organic matcha

Walnuts, pecans or pistachios for topping

Preparation:

🟡 Mash the bananas.

🟡 Mix all the ingredients with a spatula.

🟡 Place nuts on top of each muffin.

🟡 Bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes.

⚪ Makes 8 muffins.

Note:

* Adjust the stevia to taste and add vanilla extract if you don’t have the liquid stevia (I use the Now brand liquid stevia).

You can also replace the stevia with another natural sweetener of your choice or a little maple syrup.

* I use the rainforest nut butter which I love for this recipe.

Entrepreneure-immigrante épanouie/Proud immigrant entrepreneur

Reina dirige sa propre entreprise depuis environ 8 ans. Son travail consiste entre autres à recevoir, préparer et expédier des commandes, présenter ses produits à d’autres compagnies, créer et partager ses propres recettes et d’autres informations sur le thé dans les réseaux sociaux, chercher des nouveaux clients et marchés, collaborer avec d’autres compagnies locales, planifier des nouveaux produits et promotions et organiser des ateliers et des cérémonies du thé.

Être entrepreneure n’est pas toujours facile, et il faut beaucoup de temps pour construire une compagnie solide. Mais cette profession est différente et enrichissante grâce aux idées inspirantes, à la motivation et à l’énergie positive qu’elle reçoit chaque jour de ses clients et d’autres entrepreneurs.

Quand elle est arrivée à Montréal, Reina ne parlait pas français, ne connaissait pas la ville et n’avait pas de contacts à part quelques amis. Elle avait même pensé que ç’aurait été bien plus facile de lancer sa compagnie au Japon, où elle aurait pu parler et présenter ses produits dans sa langue maternelle, mieux comprendre le marché et déjà avoir des clients grâce aux contacts de sa famille.

Mais chaque défi qu’elle a relevé à Montréal l’a motivée à persévérer dans son parcours.

« Parler aux clients potentiels n’était pas facile pour moi au début. Maintenant, c’est la partie de mon travail que j’aime le plus. Quand je leur présente ma compagnie, ils s’intéressent souvent aux produits, à la culture japonaise ou à mon histoire. Je trouve ça très humain, et je n’aurais pas cette expérience si je travaillais à Tokyo », dit Reina.

Elle travaille maintenant avec plus de 100 compagnies et beaucoup de clients individuels au quotidien et a hâte d’agrandir son entreprise dans un avenir prochain.

Ces huit années d’expérience pratique lui ont appris non seulement à gérer une entreprise mais aussi à échouer et à se relever après chaque échec. Elle a aussi appris à apprécier chaque défi auquel elle fait face et chaque personne qu’elle rencontre car elle en tire toujours des leçons importantes.

17 ans après son arrivée à Montréal, Reina est une entrepreneure-immigrante épanouie.

Reina has been running her own business for around 8 years. Her work includes receiving, preparing and shipping orders, presenting her products to companies, creating and sharing her own recipes and other essential information about tea on social media, looking for new clients and markets, collaborating with other local companies, planning new products and promotions, hosting tea ceremonies and workshops, and much more.

Being an entrepreneur is not always easy, and it takes time to build a solid company. But what makes this profession different and rewarding is the inspiring ideas, motivation and positive energy she gets daily from her clients and from other entrepreneurs.

When she first arrived in Montreal, she couldn’t speak French, didn’t know the city and had no contacts aside from a few friends. She used to think it would have been much easier to start her company in Japan, where she would have been able to speak and present her products in her mother tongue, understand the market better and already have clients through her family connections.

But every challenge she faced in Montreal motivated her to keep moving forward and inspired her to continue this journey.

“Pitching in front of people wasn’t easy for me when I first started the company. Now, it’s my favourite part of the job. When I pitch, people are often interested in the products, Japanese culture, or my background. I find this so human, and I wouldn’t have this experience if I worked in Tokyo,” says Reina.

She now works with over 100 companies and numerous individual clients daily and she is excited about expanding her business in the near future.

These 8 years of hands-on experience taught her not only how to operate a business but also how to fail and to get up every time she gets knocked down. She also learned to appreciate every challenge she faces and every person she meets because they all teach her meaningful lessons.

17 years after arriving in Montreal, Reina is now a proud immigrant entrepreneur.

Recette thé Matcha aux perles et à la pêche / Matcha & peach boba tea recipe

Thé matcha aux perles & à la pêche

Étant une vrai fan de matcha et de boba (thé aux perles), j’ai fait cette recette simple. Tous les ingrédients sont faits maison, pour plus de goût!

Voici les ingrédients :

• 1 càt Matcha biologique Sakao

• 1/4 de perles de tapioca (saveur de sucre brun)

• 125 ml d’eau

• 1 verre de glaces

• 100 ml de sirop de pêche

• 250 ml de lait de macadamia

• 50 ml de sirop simple (sucre brun)

1) Il suffit de faire du matcha en tamisant le matcha, ajouter l’eau (température de 75 °C), puis fouetter pendant 30 secondes.

2) Pour les perles de tapioca, il faut les bouillir 25 minutes, à feu moyen, sans couvert. Il est important de remuer de temps en temps pour obtenir la consistance désirée. Ensuite, il faut le tamiser et rincer à l’eau froide.

3) Par la suite, mélanger le sirop choisi aux perles de tapioca.

4) Enfin, dans un grand bol, ajouter tous les ingrédients dans cet ordre :

Glaces, perles de tapioca sucrées, lait de macadamia, sirop de pêche et matcha.

5) Ajouter votre paille réutilisable, mélanger et déguster 🙂

Matcha & Peach boba tea

Being a real fun of matcha and boba (bubble tea), I made this simple recipe. All the ingredients are made at home to make it taste better!

Here are the ingredients :

• 1 tsp Sakao organic Matcha

• 1/4 tapioca pearles (brown sugar flavour)

• 125 ml water

• 1 cup icecubes

• 100 ml peach syrup

• 250 ml macadamian milk

• 50 ml simple syrup (brown sugar)

1) Prepare Matcha by sifting matcha, adding hot water (75 °C), then whisk for 30 seconds.

2) For the tapioca pearles, boil for 25 minutes over medium heat without lid. Stir time to time to get nice texture. Then drain tapioca pearls and rinse under cold water.

3) Then mix with syrup of your choice (peach syrup in this case).

4) In a big bowl, add all the ingredient with following order: Ice cubes, tapioca pearles, macadamian milk, peach syrup and matcha dans un grand bol, ajouter tous les ingrédients dans cet ordre :

Glaces, perles de tapioca sucrées, lait de macadamia, sirop de pêche et matcha.

5) Add reusable straw, mix and enjoy!

Matcha pendant la pandémie / Matcha during the pandemics

COMMENT LA PANDÉMIE M’AI PERMIS DE RENOUER AVEC LE MATCHA

La pandémie que nous vivons présentement a été, et est encore pour certains, une source de stress. Lorsque mon stage final, qui concluait mon baccalauréat en enseignement au secondaire, a été interrompu, j’étais parmi les milliers de personnes pour qui ce soudain arrêt de travail a été synonyme d’anxiété. Entre les études et les emplois étudiants, je n’étais pas habituée à avoir autant de temps libre. Cet arrêt forcé m’a cependant permis de renouer avec l’habitude de commencer mes journées avec un bol de matcha bio. Alors que je réservais habituellement ce moment aux fins de semaines, synonymes de temps libres, j’ai pu commencer à l’intégrer à ma routine quotidienne, sans contrainte de temps. Dès les premières gorgées, je me sentais plus éveillée et alerte, prête à commencer une belle journée, peu importe l’heure et les défis qui se présentaient.

Avec la reprise graduelle des services, j’ai recommencé à travailler dans mon domaine, mais à partir de chez moi : cela m’a permis de continuer d’intégrer facilement ma consommation de matcha dans ma routine matinale et ainsi de profiter de la dose d’énergie pour toute la journée que cette boisson procure. Moi qui n’ai jamais été «lève-tôt», je prévoyais désormais suffisamment de temps avant de commencer ma journée de travail pour profiter bien tranquillement de mon matcha et de ses bienfaits. Puis, avec la réouverture des écoles, j’ai obtenu un contrat ailleurs et ai conservé cette habitude. Bien que se lever suffisamment tôt soit parfois encore une décision difficile, il me semble cependant impossible de commencer la journée du bon pied si je n’ai pas mon matcha bio à mon réveil !

Ainsi, contre toutes attentes, la pandémie m’a permis de renouer avec de bonnes habitudes de vie en me permettant de recommencer à prendre le temps d’avoir un moment pour moi avant d’affronter la journée.

HOW THE PANDEMIC ALLOWED ME TO RECONNET WITH MATCHA

The pandemic we are currently experiencing has defenitely been a source of stress. When my final internship to finish my bachelor’s degree in high school education was interrupted, I was among thousands of people for whom this immediate stop of work was a synonym of anxiety. Between studies and student jobs, I wasn’t used to having so much free time. This force stop, however, allowed me to reconnect with the habit of starting my days with a bowl of organic matcha. While I usually take this moment for weekends, which is a synonym of free time, I was able to start making it part of my daily routine without time constraints. From the first sip, I felt more awake and alert, ready to start a great day, no matter the time and the challenges there were.

With the gradual resumption of services, I started working in my field again, but from home: this allowed me to continue to easily integrate my consumption of matcha into my morning routine and to take advantage of the dose of energy for the whole day. I, who have never been an “early bird”, now planning enough time before starting my day of work to quietly enjoy my matcha and its benefits. Then, with the schools reopening, I got a contract elsewhere and kept that habit. Although getting up early enough can still be difficult, it still seems impossible to start the day on the right foot if I don’t have my organic matcha when I wake up!

So, surprisingly, the pandemic allowed me to reconnect with good lifestyle habits in me, allowing me to start taking the moment for myself before kicking off the day.

Du matcha pour booster son système immunitaire contre le Coronavirus!/ Matcha to boost an immune system against Coronavirus!

Les répercussions autour du monde liées au coronavirus m’étonnent, les réactions des gens qui se ruent sur le papier toilette, la discrimination croissante envers certaines nationalités et l’annulation de tous les festivals, manifestations, événements… Ça m’étonne de voir des impacts à tous les niveaux de notre vie. C’est le genre de scénario catastrophe qu’on voit dans les films mais jamais à ce point, dans la réalité.

Il n’y a pas de remèdie miracle contre la COVID-19, mais puisque être en bonne santé est d’autant plus pertinent ces jours-ci, j’aimerais partager avec vous quelques conseils pour renforcer vos défenses immunitaires.

Je vous partage un article écrit par docteur Gabriel Cousens, un médecin holistique, homéopathe, psychiatre et herboriste chinois, dans lequel il explique que le thé vert est une excellente solution pour aider à améliorer notre système contre les maladies et notamment le coronavirus.

Or justement, savez-vous que le matcha continent beaucoup plus de valeur nutritive que le thé vert en lui-même? Le matcha est en effet une poudre de feuilles de thé!

Le docteur Gabriel Cousens dit : « Le virus entre dans la cellule par une vésicule qui s’appelle endosome. Une fois à l’intérieur, il libère une enzyme qui s’appelle 3CL (3- protéases à sérine type chymotrypsine). Cette enzyme attaque le mécanisme défensif des cellules contre les inhibiteurs du coronavirus. »

La meilleure substance pour détruire le 3CL est le gatte d’épigallocatéchine, un type de polyphénol qui s’appelle EGCG et il se trouve dans le thé vert. Non seulement il détruit le 3CL mais aussi protège la capacité de la cellule à lutter contre les virus. L’EGCG que contient donc le matcha, est aussi reconnu comme antioxydant et favorise la prévention du cancer, des maladie cardiovasculaires, et participe à la diminution de la pression artérielle. On lui attribue aussi des effets anti-âges et on considère qu’il contribue à augmenter notre niveau d’énergie.

Selon le docteur Gabriel Cousens inclure des ingrédients qui nous aident à lutter contre 3-CL dans notre alimentation quotidienne est essentiel pour soutenir notre système immunitaire. Parmi ces ingrédients intéressants à mettre dans nos tasses ou nos assiettes, en voici quelques-un:

I cannot believe this coronavirus epidemic has given us already a big impact all over the world and it will most likely to continue. People panic-buying toilet papers and food, discriminating certain races, festivals and events being cancelled. These are something that I have watched in movies and not in the reality.

I would like to share some information and advise to prevent any virus especially a COVID-19 and stay calm in this uncertainty.
